Reports to:    Senior Project Manager, PMO

Location: 9 Napoleon Road, Barrie (hybrid)

Job Purpose:   The Project Manager is responsible for independently leading the successful, on-time launch of new or improved products, ensuring objectives for Quality, Cost, Delivery, Function, and Scope are met. Responsible for high complexity projects ($5 Mil – $150 Mil), they manage the full project lifecycle from design and development through stable mass production. Collaborating closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and other cross-functional teams, the Project Manager drives project planning, resource allocation, risk mitigation, schedule management, and stakeholder alignment. They oversee product/process change notices, track and resolve open issues, and implement best practices to ensure efficient and effective launches. The role may include supervising a small team of Project Coordinator(s). 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Project Planning & Execution: Manages planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation and risk for high-complexity projects. Ensures progress, budget, and deliverables align with project goals, escalating issues as needed to meet scope, quality, and cost targets.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Alignment: Chair CFT meetings from Stage 2 onwards and support PM in Stage 1. Align stakeholders on design feasibility, cost, quality, timing, and risk. Track open issues, assist in escalation of gaps, and support accountability across departments.
  • Product Launch Readiness & Production Support: Assist in readiness reviews, validate resource and part availability, support pilot/production runs, and help resolve build issues. Document continuous improvement and Lessons learnt (TGW/TGR) opportunities.
  • Change Management & Risk Control: Lead CN/ECO management as (if) applicable. Assess feasibility, coordinate implementation, and help identify risks with mitigation/recovery plans. Ensure process stability during project execution.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Support: Work closely with Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure supplier / internal tooling readiness (PPAP, PQV, approvals) as well as to develop recovery plans and countermeasures, as & when applicable.
  • Governance, Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Ensure governance standards are applied across all assigned projects, review project milestones, and drive adherence to Stage Gate/GNPMS processes. Prepare regular updates for senior leadership, analyze project execution trends, and implement best practices to improve team efficiency and delivery
  • Issue Tracking & Reporting: Maintain and manage open issues list, ensure timely task completion, trend analysis, and escalate as needed of activities. Works with department administrator to analyze trends and suggest corrective action to improve efficiency. Raise flag to relevant management team member at appropriate time based on gap / variance analysis.
  • Continuous Improvement & Compliance: Ensure adherence to Stage Gate methodology, GNPMS standards, best practices, and post-launch analysis.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor in Engineering Degree with sound finance knowledge.
  • Post Graduate Diploma or Masters in Engineering or Management - Preferred (or significant directly applicable industry experience with demonstrated experience in project management)
  • Minimum of Seven (7) years of applicable work experience in an engineering or production environment with a minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated project / program management experience required.
  • Certificate or Diploma in Project Management / registered PMP preferred.
  • MS Office, MS Project / Monday.com
  • Broad understanding of design, manufacturing and assembly processes with experience in metal stamping and/or fabrication. Understanding of Hearth/Grills/HVAC products would be advantageous. Demonstrated ability to achieve results through negotiating, influencing and aligning individuals and cross functional departments.
