Position Summary

Description:

The Senior Product Owner supports the definition, delivery, and lifecycle management of CASPAR (Cost Allocation Schedule Performance Analytics & Reporting), a strategic platform within the company's Interconnection ecosystem. CASPAR is being developed to serve as the system of record for interconnection cost allocation, financial tracking, schedule performance analytics, and reporting across the interconnection lifecycle. The platform is the system of record for the relationship between interconnection customers, interconnection facilities, network upgrades, financial projects, and allocated cost responsibility while enabling improved transparency, automation, auditability, and regulatory compliance.

This position provides Product Owner leadership for a multi-year implementation initiative focused on modernizing and enhancing CASPAR through improved business processes, data governance, automation, reporting, and integration with key enterprise systems including Datamart, EcoSys, FIHUB, and related interconnection platforms. The role will be primarily focused on successful implementation and adoption of CASPAR, while providing flexibility to support additional products and initiatives within company's broader Interconnection Management ecosystem as business needs evolve.

The Senior Product Owner will partner closely with business sponsors, subject matter experts, architects, developers, data integration resources, testers, and vendor partners to deliver an approved product roadmap. Business sponsors will define product strategy, drive prioritization decisions, approve scope direction, and resolve significant business tradeoffs. The Senior Product Owner will own execution of the approved roadmap, including requirements gathering, backlog ownership, stakeholder alignment, product delivery, and validation of delivered functionality. This role will also own and execute on the successful migration from the current business product to CASPAR.

This position requires a balance of business process expertise and technical product leadership. Approximately 60% of the role is focused on business process analysis, requirements management, stakeholder engagement, business rule definition, and delivery coordination. The remaining 40% focuses on technical product implementation activities including data integration requirements, system validation, data reconciliation, reporting, and verification of integration outcomes. While technical resources will execute integrations and development activities, the Product Owner must possess sufficient technical and data expertise to confidently validate designs & calculation results, ensure solutions meet business objectives, and review and validate source-to-target mappings for migration.
The ideal candidate combines strong product ownership capabilities with experience supporting enterprise data initiatives, financial systems, regulatory environments, and complex business processes. This individual must be comfortable operating at the intersection of business, technology, data, finance, and compliance while driving successful delivery of a highly visible strategic initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of interconnection business processes, cost allocation methodologies, financial data, and regulatory requirements.

  • Own delivery of the approved CASPAR roadmap in partnership with business sponsors and Product Management.

  • Elicit, document, analyze, refine, and maintain business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and product documentation.

  • Build, groom, maintain, and manage the product backlog, ensuring traceability from business objectives through delivery.

  • Document business process workflows, business rules, financial calculations, data requirements, and operational procedures.

  • Ensure product requirements accurately reflect business processes, compliance needs, operational objectives, financial calculations, and reporting requirements.

  • Facilitate stakeholder work sessions to gather requirements, resolve ambiguities, and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Collaborate with developers, architects, analysts, testers, business SMEs, and vendor partners to deliver product enhancements.

  • Support data integration initiatives by defining business requirements, validating mapping logic, reviewing transformation rules, and verifying integration outcomes.

  • Validate delivered functionality against approved requirements and acceptance criteria.

  • Review and verify source-to-target mappings, data transformations, reconciliation results, reporting outputs, and business rule execution.

  • Support testing activities including system integration testing, user acceptance testing, regression testing, and data validation efforts.

  • Partner with technical teams to ensure data integrity, governance, auditability, and operational readiness.

  • Identify dependencies, risks, assumptions, and implementation challenges and proactively communicate them to stakeholders.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, retrospectives, and release planning.

  • Support onboarding, training, change management, and adoption activities.

  • Communicate roadmap status, implementation progress, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders and leadership teams.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts across the Interconnection product ecosystem.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline
