Position Summary

The Product Manager is the department's day-to-day operational backbone, turning strategic priorities into well-defined, well-sequenced work that gets shipped. This role owns the product backlog, keeps stakeholders across organization informed and aligned, and ensures initiatives are clearly scoped and delivered on time. This role also supports alignment around key business metrics and outcomes by helping define, document, and ensure a shared understanding of success measures across the organization. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to keep teams moving, and deep understanding of both the technical work and the business problems it is intended to solve.

Responsibilities

Translate strategic priorities set by leadership into clearly defined, sequenced work items that keep the delivery team focused and moving forward. Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple departments to gather input, clarify needs, and prioritize features, enhancements, and fixes based on business impact and implementation effort. Maintain and manage the product backlog, ensuring it accurately reflects current priorities and is clearly communicated to the team and stakeholders. Support solution evaluations (build vs buy) by gathering requirements, coordinating input from technical and business stakeholders, and ensuring recommended solutions align with team capabilities and company goals. Work closely with technical teams to ensure product requirements are well-defined, feasible, and delivered within expected timelines. Act as the primary point of contact for in-progress work, providing real-time updates, managing day-to-day expectations, and escalating blockers or risks to management as needed. Use data insights, stakeholder feedback, and team input to inform day-to-day product decisions and ensure solutions address real business problems. Contribute to the development and documentation of product management processes, tools, and standards that support consistent delivery and team collaboration. Support efforts by helping define, document, and align on key business metrics and performance measures, ensuring consistent definitions and shared understanding across teams.

Education and Experience

Knowledge of customer and software support platforms, such as Zendesk, and experience supporting iterative delivery.

Knowledge of AI conversational coding development.

- Knowledge of multifamily real estate operations (conventional, student, or affordable housing) is a plus. Skilled in managing product backlogs and translating strategic priorities into actionable work. Skilled in using data to inform decisions, identify trends, and validate product outcomes. Skilled in verbal and written communication, with the ability to clearly convey technical and business concepts. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including data engineers and business stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple stakeholder needs and help drive alignment across teams. Ability to build strong working relationships with both technical and non-technical partners, earning credibility on both sides. Ability to balance short-term execution with awareness of longer-term goals and dependencies. Ability to collaborate with both full-time employees and external partners. Ability to solve complex problems and to adapt to evolving priorities and business needs.

Three or more years of experience in product management, product ownership, or a related role.
