Job description

Product Manager

Company:  ReferralPoint

Location:  Grapevine, TX · Hybrid (Tue/Wed in office)

Type:  Full-Time

About Us

We are a focused, purpose-driven medical referrals company with a clear mission: making it easier for patients to get to the right care, faster. With a small team, everyone here has real impact — you won't be a cog in a machine. We move quickly, care deeply about the people we serve, and build thoughtful products that touch the healthcare journey at a critical moment.

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Product Manager to take ownership of our product roadmap and help shape the future of our platform. You'll be the connective tissue between our business goals, our clinical stakeholders, and our engineering team — translating complex needs into clear, actionable work.

This is a hands-on role. You'll be writing user stories in the morning and presenting roadmap priorities to leadership in the afternoon. As our only product hire, you'll own everything from long-term strategy down to day-to-day backlog management — there's no separate product team to hand off the tactical work to. If you thrive in small-team environments where your decisions genuinely matter, this is the role for you.

What You'll Do

  • Own the product strategy and roadmap, and translate business and clinical needs into clear, well-scoped user stories and epics

  • Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring the team is always working on the highest-value items

  • Conduct customer and market discovery — talking directly with clinical stakeholders, referral partners, and patients to validate problems before they become backlog items

  • Partner closely with engineering, clinical, and operational stakeholders to define requirements and acceptance criteria

  • Lead sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews as the primary Product Manager

  • Monitor product performance and use data to inform prioritization decisions

  • Collaborate with external vendors and integration partners to inform product decisions

  • Partner with sales and leadership on positioning and go-to-market input for new features

  • Advocate for the end user — both patients and healthcare providers — throughout the product lifecycle

  • Communicate roadmap status and trade-offs clearly to the broader team and leadership

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in a Product Manager or closely related product management role

  • Proven ability to own and manage a product backlog end-to-end in an agile environment

  • Experience conducting customer discovery, user research, or competitive/market analysis

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — you can make complexity simple

  • Experience working directly with engineering teams and participating in sprint ceremonies

  • A collaborative, low-ego working style that fits a small, tight-knit team

  • Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward action — you'll be the only product hire, balancing hands-on backlog ownership with longer-term strategy

Bonus points for:

  • Experience in healthcare, health tech, or a regulated industry

  • Familiarity with referral management, care coordination, or EHR integrations

  • Exposure to HIPAA compliance requirements in a product context

What We Offer

  • Base salary range of $130,000–$160,000, commensurate with experience

  • Equity participation

  • Health, dental, and vision benefits

  • Up to 10% annual bonus opportunity

  • Flexible hybrid schedule (Tue/Wed in office, Grapevine TX)

  • A small team where your work is seen, valued, and has immediate impact

  • The opportunity to help shape healthcare access for real patients

ReferralPoint is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds.
