Manager, Project Manager - Product Operations (Business Cards & Payments)

The Role:

As a Manager, Project Manager in Product Operations, you will play a critical role in enabling our product teams to operate at their full potential. You will be responsible for identifying and solving operational challenges, developing scalable tools and processes, and driving efficiencies that empower our teams to focus on delivering exceptional products for our customers. This is a high-impact role that requires a strategic mindset, analytical problem-solving skills, and a passion for building and optimizing product operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Problem Solving & Process Optimization

    • Identify inefficiencies and friction points in product development, launch, and operations, and develop innovative solutions.

    • Work cross-functionally to implement streamlined workflows that enable the team to move faster while maintaining high quality.

    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging data and user feedback to optimize operational processes.

  • Program Management:

    • Provide core program management support for both standard and AI-driven workstreams

    • Monitor and enforce resource accountability across core workstreams, ensuring teams remain fully accountable to and efficiently utilize headcount and budget assets

    • Drop into loosely defined, fast-moving environments and quickly introduce structure, clear ownership, and execution roadmaps

  • Building Scalable Tools & Frameworks

    • Own the product org's tech stack (Jira, Claude, Tableau, etc.) to ensure complete visibility into product work, maintaining strict data accuracy and hygiene across platforms

    • Develop frameworks and best practices that enable teams to execute with clarity and alignment.

    • Collaborate with engineering, data, and business teams to integrate technology solutions that improve team effectiveness.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution

    • Act as a strategic partner to Senior Leaders, product managers, engineering, design, and business teams to remove roadblocks and ensure smooth execution.

    • Drive alignment across teams by facilitating communication, documentation, and decision-making processes.

    • Support product launches by ensuring operational readiness, risk mitigation, and compliance with business requirements.

  • Metrics & Insights

    • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational effectiveness.

    • Conduct root cause analysis to proactively identify challenges and opportunities for improvement.

    • Develop reporting and analytics to provide visibility into product operations and inform strategic decisions.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strategic mindset with the ability to execute at a tactical level.

  • Experience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and business teams.

  • The ability to analyze data, derive insights, and make data-driven decisions.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in product operations, product management, or strategy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in product operations or related roles

  • Experience in the financial services, payments, or business cards industry.

  • Proficiency in SQL, Tableau, JIRA, Confluence, or similar platforms.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $151,900 - $173,400 for Manager, Project Management


New York, NY: $165,700 - $189,200 for Manager, Project Management


Richmond, VA: $138,100 - $157,700 for Manager, Project Management









Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
