Job description

Logoplaste is currently seeking to recruit a Production Manager, to join the plant team in Plainfield, IL (USA).

The Production Manager will be directly responsible for production floor operations, products, equipment and personnel. The production managerial role is a “hands on” position.

Key Tasks & Activities...

  • Oversee daily production operations; support to Plant Manager in all aspects of manufacturing process, including improvements to process
  • Enforce quality control and set quality standards
  • Detect and resolve faults/breakdowns, including planning and implementing corrective measures
  • Ensure on time production and delivery
  • Working with senior management to implement company policy and goals
  • Participate in trials of new material, endorsement of molds and new equipment in accordance with the standard requirements
  • Ensure that training programs for production staff are planned and delivered
  • Ensuring health and safety guidelines are followed
  • Supervising a team of multi skilled personnel
  • Identify and address training needs and refresher training
  • Providing on call technical support for process and basic mechanical issues if required
  • Work closely with operations, purchasing, engineering, and quality to achieve manufacturing results
  • Oversee planned maintenance operations
  • Manage human and material resources to achieve results
  • Make decisions about equipment use, maintenance, modification and procurement
  • Workout and implement standard operating procedures for operations and ensure that they are adhered to
  • Manage production costs
  • Determine and implement improvements to the production process
  • Analyse production and quality to detect and correct problems
  • Review employee performance
  • Manage labor hours for production employees
  • Make decisions for temp labor
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Who we are looking for...

Background and Experience

  • Five years related management experience in manufacturing environment; partnered with strong leadership skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing operations and maintenance engineering
  • Industry experience preferred

Technical Skills

  • SAP experience
  • Logistics background preferred
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, quality systems and standards
  • Good working knowledge of relevant legislation, including health and safety
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel

Interpersonal Skills

  • Highly motivated, results oriented
  • Ability to make decisions

Physical requirements and work environment

  • Able to work flexible and/or extended hours and weekends based on business demand
