Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Assistant Product Management Intern will participate in a structured learning experience designed to provide exposure to product management concepts within the modular systems and data center industry. Under close supervision, the intern will observe and support non-essential activities that build understanding of project workflows, cross-functional collaboration, and product lifecycle fundamentals. This internship is intended for educational development and may be eligible for academic credit depending on the intern's academic program.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES & DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES:

  • Gain exposure to how product management supports large-scale engineered systems such as data centers and modular cooling units.
  • Observe cross-functional collaboration by shadowing interactions with departments such as scheduling, engineering, manufacturing, and accounting.
  • Attend select project team meetings as an observer to understand communication flow, project milestones, and decision-making processes.
  • Learn how design and customer submittals are processed by reviewing examples and observing document workflows under supervision.
  • Gain familiarity with scheduling and document control practices through guided demonstrations and supervised exercises.
  • Understand procurement tracking concepts by observing how items are monitored against project schedules.
  • Participate in structured learning assignments or small guided projects that reinforce academic concepts and build professional skills.
  • All activities will be educational in nature and performed under direct supervision. The intern will not be responsible for essential business tasks or work that would otherwise be performed by a paid employee.
  • All other activities as assigned by TAS.

EDUCATION & TRAINING:

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program related to engineering, project management, business, or a similar field
  • Internship may be eligible for academic credit depending on school requirements
  • Intern must provide documentation if academic credit is sought

SKILLS TO BE DEVELOPED:

  • Understanding of product management fundamentals
  • Exposure to project scheduling and documentation processes
  • Professional communication and cross-functional collaboration
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel (or continued development thereof)

INTERNSHIP STRUCTURE:

  • This is a paid educational internship designed to provide learning and professional development.
  • The internship has a defined start and end date.
  • Participation does not guarantee future employment with TAS.
  • The intern is the primary beneficiary of the experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Position is at least 80% to 95% at a desk working with computer. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Performs other physical activities including use of fingers, sitting, stooping, bending, crouching, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions. Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal, and conduct extensive reading. The incumbent will be subject to inside environmental conditions.
