Job description

Position Summary...As the Director of Product Management for Seller Risk, you will define the vision, strategy, and execution for the products that establish trust across the Walmart Marketplace seller lifecycle—from onboarding and identity verification to continuous risk monitoring and enforcement.
You’ll lead a team of exceptional Product Managers to build AI-powered, data-driven platforms that protect customers, enable legitimate sellers to thrive, and accelerate marketplace growth. This is a highly strategic leadership role with broad executive visibility, where you’ll shape the future of trust for one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing marketplaces.   What you'll do...About the team:
The Marketplace Trust team is building the intelligence layer that enables Walmart Marketplace to scale with confidence. Our mission is to make Walmart the most trusted marketplace by creating products that balance seller growth with customer trust. We own the end-to-end seller risk journey from onboarding and identity verification through lifecycle monitoring, enforcement, and AI-powered decisioning. You’ll define strategy for products that determine who can sell, detect emerging risks, automate decisions, protect millions of customers, empower trusted sellers to grow, and shape the future of trust across one of the world’s largest, fastest-growing digital marketplaces through innovation, collaboration, and scale.

What you'll do:

  • Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Seller Risk across onboarding, identity verification and lifecycle monitoring

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of high-performing Product Managers, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and customer obsession.

  • Build risk detection systems and capabilities that accelerate fraud detection while minimizing friction for legitimate sellers.

  • Partner with Engineering, Data Science, Compliance, and Business leaders to deliver scalable, customer-centric solutions.

  • Drive measurable improvements in fraud loss, false-positive rates, and decision speed.

  • Anticipate emerging fraud trends, evolving regulatory requirements, and new marketplace risks, translating them into differentiated product capabilities.

  • Champion the use of machine learning, graph intelligence, and decisioning platforms to continuously improve risk detection and decision accuracy.

What you'll bring:

  • 12+ years of product management experience, including significant experience leading high-performing product teams in marketplaces, with a focus on seller risk across onboarding and the seller lifecycle.

  • Demonstrated success building and leading teams of Product Managers, coaching talent, and developing future product leaders.

  • Deep understanding of seller risk, fraud prevention, identity verification, and compliance.

  • Proven ability to solve critical business challenges, including establishing robust KYC/KYB capabilities and improving business trustworthiness scoring to prevent fraud.

  • Strong understanding of seller identity and intent signals that power machine learning risk models for rapid detection of fraud patterns and enhanced identity verification.

  • Experience building machine learning-based risk models, as well as heuristic-based risk strategies and rule management systems to improve decision accuracy.

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data, experimentation, and insights to drive product decisions.

  • Track record of influencing executive stakeholders and aligning cross-functional organizations around strategy and execution.

  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for both technical and executive audiences.
