To thrive as a Product Intern, you generally need a foundation in business, marketing, or computer science, strong analytical abilities, and an eagerness to learn about product development. Familiarity with tools like Jira, Trello, Google Analytics, and proficiency in Excel or basic data analysis is often expected. Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills help you collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and articulate ideas. These skills are crucial for contributing meaningfully to product strategy and execution, ensuring your work supports the team's goals and user needs.

As a Product Intern, you will frequently work alongside teams such as engineering, design, marketing, and sales to help move product initiatives forward. This collaboration often involves attending team meetings, gathering feedback, and helping to coordinate tasks across departments. You'll likely assist in translating user requirements into technical specifications with engineers and collaborate with designers to ensure a seamless user experience. Product Associates are full-time entry-level employees with some foundational knowledge, working more independently within product teams. Both roles serve as stepping stones into product management careers, but the Product Associate position typically offers more responsibility and stability.

What does a Product Intern do?

They often collaborate with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure that products meet customer needs and business objectives.
