Job description

Designs new products and improvements / modifications to existing designs. Work with manufacturing and suppliers to assure design objectives are met. Assists sales and subsidiary offices with technical information to support all product lines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following.

  • Works with other Product Development, engineering & sales personnel to learn what is needed / required for the new products and or improve existing products for optimum wear, efficiency, and ease of maintenance characteristics.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure a technically accurate and timely completion of new product designs and existing design improvements.
  • Works with suppliers and internal manufacturing to provide technical support concerning new and modified product component designs.
  • Performs necessary engineering research, calculations, etc. to publish technical data that supports the product line.
  • Potential visits to customers sites either with sales or on behalf of sales to provide product support or trouble shooting functions.
  • Assists in the writing of product IOM manuals.
  • Capable of using standard computer software tools such as 3D parametric program experience, databases, spreadsheets, word processing programs to evaluate findings and prepare reports and presentations.
  • Ability to get along with others and work in a team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Engineering or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have AutoCAD 3-D, Catia experience and capable of running CFD and FEA software.
LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Demonstrate a proficiency to operate a variety of software programs including, but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation graphics, Email, personal information management and specialized programs relating to job function. Must have 3D parametric software background.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
