Materials & Process Engineer (Advanced Manufacturing) Overview

The Materials & Process Engineer will advance and refine manufacturing processes involving directed energy, controlled reactive environments, and metal–ceramic interface engineering. This role focuses on transforming material performance through precise thermal, energetic, and phase-control processes at microstructural scales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and qualify process parameters for advanced manufacturing and surface-engineering systems
  • Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to transition lab-scale methods to production
  • Characterize microstructural, chemical, and mechanical outcomes to optimize performance
  • Support documentation, data analysis, and process-control protocols
Qualifications
  • B.S. or M.S. in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Experience with high-temperature or surface-engineering processes (laser, plasma, PVD/CVD, HIP, or similar)
