The Role

The Senior Product Manager, Product Development is a key leader within the Product organization, responsible for driving category and portfolio outcomes for our largest line of business (LOB), Fittings. This role blends deep technical product expertise and market insight with strong business acumen, portfolio prioritization, and cross-functional leadership.

As a strategic leader works closely with the Fittings team and defines and guides the execution of multi-year product roadmaps, making disciplined trade-offs across innovation, lifecycle management, simplification, margin performance, and organizational capacity. This role plays a critical part in aligning product strategy with broader business objectives.

In close partnership with Merchandising and the broader management team, the Senior Product Manager drives LOB performance, leads key initiatives, and ensures clear, consistent communication across the organization, including product roadmap planning and launch execution.

This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence at the Corporate office a minimum of 3 days per week.

Responsibilities:

Portfolio & Category Leadership

  • Own category strategy for assigned fittings area, including new development, facelift, extensions and exits
  • Define and manage multi - year roadmaps
  • Translates market, customer, and competitive insights into portfolio decisions
  • Lead prioritization decisions across competing initiatives; make and defend trade-offs with cross functional leadership
  • Drive portfolio simplification and productivity initiatives to improve margin, complexity and speed to market
  • Serve as the primary authority for assigned categories in leadership forums

Business Ownership & Performance Management

  • Own category-level financial performance, including revenue, margin and productivity targets
  • Monitor performance and identify risks and opportunities, driving actions to optimize business outcomes
  • Translate market, customer and sales insights into recommendations that inform product and merchandising decisions
  • Partner with leadership to ensure alignment with broader financial goals and category priorities

Cross-Functional Leadership & Execution

  • Lead and drive alignment across Product Development, Engineering, Merchandising, Marketing, Sales and Operations
  • Ensure clarity of priorities, timelines, and accountability across stakeholders
  • Lead execution of product initiatives and launches, ensuring consistency with strategic direction
  • Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery

Go-to-Market Execution

  • Lead execution of go-to-market strategies for assigned categories in partnership with Marketing and Sales
  • Ensure alignment of digital and showroom merchandising with product positioning and business objectives
  • Oversee delivery of assets, tools and training to support successful product launches and sales enablement
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure cohesive product storytelling across all customer touchpoints

Cost & Data Management

  • Lead the RFQ process, including cost and MOQ negotiation with vendors, with expertise in cost construction
  • Collaborate on product price strategy to support merchandising and LOB product margin targets
  • Ensure accuracy and definition of product data information, including taxonomy, attributes, product associations, and feature statements across all systems
  • Lead timely resolution of product related support tickets

Quality & Compliance

  • Set expectations for Waterworks Product to ensure we deliver excellence
  • Support Engineering and Quality Control to uphold Waterworks standard of product excellence
  • Proficiency in LOB compliance requirements, partner with Compliance & Engineering teams to ensure all products comply with domestic and international standards
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Key Qualifications:

  • Strong product management and strategic execution skills, with the ability to translate strategy into results
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders in a matrixed environment
  • Strong analytical capabilities, with experience translating data into actionable recommendations
  • Solid market acumen with accountability for category-level performance
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability manage competing priorities
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 8+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Development, or Merchandising
  • Proven ownership of technical, complex, and regulated product categories
  • Experience managing large, SKU-intensive portfolios with lifecycle complexity
  • Demonstrated ability to make and lead business and portfolio decisions in ambiguous environments
  • Strong executive communication and cross-functional influence skills
  • Experience with PLM, ERP, and product data systems required
  • Luxury or premium brand and team management experience strongly preferred
  • Domestic and international vendor experience required
  • Travel required up to 25% (Domestic and International)
$115,000 - $140,000 a year
This role has a base salary plus bonus opportunity.
