Position Summary

Natural Soda Inc (a Huber company) seeks an Electrical Engineer for our Rifle, CO location to support and lead major project management, maintenance planning, scheduling, budgeting and supervision. Provide engineering support for electrical systems, including power distribution, motor controls, instrumentation, and process automation.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and execute design and modification projects to improve equipment reliability, plant safety, and energy efficiency.

Support capital projects from concept through implementation, including scope development, cost estimation, vendor coordination, and commissioning.

Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis for electrical equipment failures and implement corrective actions.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements.

Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for electrical equipment and ensure complete documentation of maintenance activities.

Manage and update electrical drawings, schematics, and documentation.

Participate in plant reliability initiatives, energy management programs, and process optimization efforts.

Provide technical training and guidance to maintenance staff as needed.

Support plant-wide initiatives such as sustainability projects, system upgrades, and recent technology implementation.

Apply the maintenance philosophy of Inspection-Planning-Execution to improve reliability and work efficiency.

Oversee construction projects, scheduling, and planning for capital and major maintenance projects, ensuring sound engineering principles in all power distribution modifications.

Direct and provide guidance to contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure quality, efficiency, and adherence to company standards.

Maintain critical spares inventory and plant drawing databases to support system reliability and minimize downtime.

Promote high housekeeping standards during maintenance and project execution to support safety and operational excellence.

Monitor process and equipment performance, supporting condition-based maintenance strategies and improving system reliability.

Must be able to work schedules assigned, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, and must be available for call-out during emergencies, inclement weather, or other critical events.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

Knowledge of electrical engineering, control and power distribution systems, PLCs, VFDs, wireless systems, communication protocols, motor controls, and instrumentation.

Experience in the use of schematics, electrical drawings and control diagrams.

Deep understanding of wiring, schematic, control, and loop diagrams.

Experience with AutoCAD or similar software for electrical design and drawing updates.

Familiarity with OSHA regulations and industrial safety standards.

Experience in project management.

Computer based work with Excel, Word and databases used for CMMS.
