Position Summary:

Lead, drive, develop and support the development of innovative and competitive products for Medical Nutrition which meet Market needs, Regulatory and Quality compliance, consistent with Global Plans, in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, coach and manage resources within the PD MN team to provide all support required for product development projects. Support businesses in pipeline or operational strategies definitions.
  • Implement and document plans to develop people by providing opportunities to grow in the organization, thru short-term missions and trainings, leveraging from all the opportunities we have in Nestle.
  • Foster a digital learning mindset within the team and champion the adoption of digital initiatives (e.g., recipe optimization, data-driven product development, AI-enabled tools). Continuously maintain and enhance personal digital proficiency to effectively leverage Product Development technologies, drive innovation, and improve business outcomes
  • Drive and provide technical guidance on products, ingredients, processing parameters and equipment to team members and colleagues.
  • Drive innovative solutions as needed during project development.
  • Bring and design alternatives, proposals, when the original idea can’t be achieved for technical or regulatory reasons.
  • Maintain/strengthen high quality of core competency within the group and with pilot plant and factories.
  • Develop short, mid and long-term plans to support future innovation on new concepts and technologies.
  • Investigate and evaluate new technologies, concepts, processes, products or equipment, and develop applications of findings to new uses.
  • Create synergies through effective networking with all relevant R&D Units, business partners, markets, SBUs, Head Office, external partners.
  • Comply with Nestlé Integrated Management Systems and all company policies and procedures.
Experience and Education Requirements:
  • B.S. degree in Food Science, Engineering, Pharmaceutical or related plus 9 years minimum of related experience in food industry, or a PhD in a related field and 6 years experience.
  • 3+ years of prior people management experience required
  • Experience with ready-to-drink (RTD) products, specifically protein beverages, preferred
  • Strong analytical and digital capabilities, with the ability to identify, collect, organize, analyze, and interpret data to solve complex Product Development challenges and optimize the use of PD assets.
  • Proven capability to lead a team and to motivate people.
  • Understanding of operational set-up categories.
  • Ability to manage resources and budget requirements (i.e. CAPEX, cost evaluation, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of own area of responsibility.
  • Ability to create a climate of mutual trust and need for success, fostering a positive culture for inclusion and diversity.
  • Good interpersonal/teamwork skills and a good sense of business/technical interrelationships
  • Availability to travel to different locations and manufacturing sites (external or internal) to lead and monitor the development process.

The approximate pay range for this position is $160,000.00 to $200,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
