  • Develop and execute a replication strategy from European-tested systems to U.S. listings as strategically suitable.
  • Generate a database and maintain listing system designs.
  • Lead from testing to approval (listing) obtained.
  • Identify opportunities to maximize approval scope (movement, size, substrate variation, materials, etc.)

Technical Documentation & System Engineering

  • Translate test results into engineered system designs and listings
  • Develop installation details, system drawings, and technical documentation
  • Ensure alignment between test configurations and real-world applications (pipes, cables, joints, curtain wall interfaces) in coordination with Product Management.

Cross-Functional Integration

  • Work closely with Product Management, Sales, and other relevant functions to translate approvals into commercial offerings
  • Support the technical sales/specification team with system selection and technical guidance
  • Provide input to R&D on material behavior and system optimization

Pipeline Development & Prioritization

  • Develop “what-if” strategies for test results to ensure results in a timely manner.

Compliance & Standards Expertise

  • Maintain working knowledge of:
    • IBC requirements for firestopping
    • NFPA 70 (relevant to penetrations and installations)
    • ASTM passive fire protection relevant standards.
    • Ensure all systems meet regulatory and code compliance requirements

What you’ll bring:

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in fire testing, product testing, or technical engineering, preferably involving passive fire protection or building materials.
  • Understanding of fire testing standards and codes (e.g., ASTM E84, E1354, E814/UL 1479, ASTM E1966/UL 2079, ASTM E2307, ASTM E119, UL 1703, UL 263, NFPA, IBC).
  • Experience working with third party testing laboratories and certification bodies.
  • Ability to perform and interpret test data, drawings, and standards to evaluate system performance (basic use of CAD software is needed).
  • Strong technical writing skills for preparation of test documentation and reports.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, planning, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross functional environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% for witnessed tests, laboratory coordination, and stakeholder meetings domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications
