Overall Responsibility:

The Product Development Co-op supports the Product Development team by conducting laboratory testing, collecting and analyzing data, and assisting with the validation of blank material. This hands-on role provides exposure to advanced automotive manufacturing processes, quality testing methods, and engineering analysis. This is a 3- to 6-month contract opportunity with the potential to transition into a full-time role within AMTB based on performance and business needs.

Accountabilities:

Product Testing & Validation

  • Conduct laboratory testing on blank samples and welded components using quality laboratory equipment, including microscopes and measuring devices.
  • Prepare, organize, and document test samples according to established work instructions.

Data Collection & Analysis

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret test data under guidance of global R&D engineers with local support from lab personnel
  • Create reports, charts, and summaries using Microsoft Excel.

Safety & Continuous Improvement

  • Follow all AMTB safety policies, procedures, and laboratory protocols.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related Engineering program.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, charts, and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of statistics and laboratory testing methods is an asset.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Safety-conscious with strong attention to detail.

Compensation Package:

  • Salary range: $27 - $30 per hour
