Job Description

As the Associate Trim Developer your raw material background and knowledge will help bring Vuori Designs to life. Your knowledge will be utilized to develop trend right, industry leading trims and packaging that set Vuori apart from the rest. We are seeking a passionate and technically skilled Associate Trim Developer to drive pre-season trend, development and commercialization for performance and/or lifestyle apparel.  

You are the link between design, merchandising, development, and the suppliers. It is essential that all communication is accurate, complete, timely and professional. Therefore, we entrust you to develop quality, on-time and cost-efficient trims and packaging that reflect Vuori’s aesthetic and ethos.  

What you'll get to do:

  • Support the development and approval of trims and packaging across apparel and accessories categories each season 
  • Source new trim options from vendors and mills based on Design's seasonal direction, cost targets, and brand standards 
  • Submit and track trim approvals (hardware, labels, zippers, buttons, drawcords, elastic, packaging) through development to bulk production 
  • Maintain and organize the trim library, including physical samples, specs, and digital records 
  • Partner with Design, Tech Design, and Product Development teams to ensure trim specifications are accurate, functional, and align with garment construction 
  • Request and evaluate trim submissions for quality, durability, and compliance testing 
  • Track trim approval status across multiple seasons and styles, flagging delays, cost issues, or quality concerns proactively 
  • Maintain accurate records in PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems, including trim specs, approvals, and costing 
  • Support cross-functional meetings, documenting trim-related notes and following up on action items 
  • Stay current on trim trends, new suppliers, and innovative materials relevant to the brand's aesthetic 
Qualifications

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Textiles Science, Product Development or equivalent years of experience preferred. 
  • 3+ years of trim development experience is required and/or product development experience  
  • Strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of garment construction and trim function 
  • Experience working in PLM systems and data management tools is preferred; Strong ability to maintain accuracy, support cross functional transparency throughout the development lifecycle; Familiarity with PLM platforms Centric is a bonus 
  • Working knowledge of trim types, hardware finishes, and compliance/safety standards  
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally with Design, Tech Design, and overseas vendor partners 
  • Knowledge in trim construction and development, including deep familiarity in finishings, both performance and lifestyle applications  
  • Technical understanding of testing standards (ASTM, AATCC, ISO) for performance and lifestyle apparel 
  • Eye for fashion, trend, and aesthetics, with a passion for curating elevated, brand-defining trim solutions that resonate with the Vuori customer 
  • Effective organizational and communication skills with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple seasons and product categories simultaneously 
  • You empower yourself to approach life and work with positivity, purpose, and intention. Keeping it light and having fun along the way. 
  • Proficiency in Excel; Adobe Illustrator experience a plus 
  • International travel experience is a plus; possible international travel required  
  • Bend, lift, open and move product and related office items vary in weight up to 25lbs, depending on need.

The salary range for this role is $70,000 per year - $89,985 per year.
