Gold Bond is a supplier, importer and decorator in the 23 billion dollar promotional products industry. Our customer base consists of thousands of promotional products distributors, or resellers of our products. Distributors sell our products to end buyers; businesses, non-profits, or individuals seeking to promote their business, improve brand value, reward their employees, resell in the retail channel, etc. The products that they purchase most frequently include a corporate logo, or other visual elements to assist them in achieving their goals.
The Product Development team seeks out and works directly with domestic suppliers for inventory and non-inventory opportunities. The team consists of employees adept at trendspotting, product idea creation, product enhancements, competitive analysis and liaising with our sales team and distributors.
  • Determines customer's needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information.
  • Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.
  • Assesses market competition by comparing the company's product to competitor's products.
  • Coordinates with top sales reps to provide initial new product forecasting for the Purchasing Department.
  • Works with Pricing Specialist to determine product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and freight costs.
  • Introduces and markets new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, marketing, customer service, order entry and production.
  • Conduct technical analysis and troubleshooting for material and manufacturing constraints.

The ideal candidate would develop a broad skill set including design & development, trendspotting, team building, talent acquisition, process improvement, product strategy and product communication. The ability to grow within the company in terms of responsibility and compensation is limited only by the candidate's drive for success.
Requirements
Education / Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years experience in product development / product design / trend spotting
  • Previous promotional product industry sales / creative / product development experience a plus
