How does a Product Designer typically collaborate with engineers and product managers during the development process?

Product Designers work closely with engineers and product managers throughout the development lifecycle. Job description

Gradial helps marketers and creatives move from idea to execution faster. Our platform turns intent into action, automating website updates, design system migrations, and ongoing content optimization while preserving brand integrity across every touchpoint.
Backed by leading investors, we're building software that adapts to the user, not the other way around. We move with urgency, operate with ownership, and solve hard problems from first principles. If you want to do ambitious work, take real responsibility, and help define the future of AI-native content operations, you'll do your best work here.
The Role
As a Senior Product Designer at Gradial, you'll work alongside product managers, engineers, and AI researchers to create intuitive, elegant, and scalable design solutions for our generative AI platform. You'll be instrumental in turning complex workflows and sophisticated AI features into experiences that delight our users - marketers and creative professionals looking to build and maintain compelling online experiences with minimal friction.
We believe design is critical to making AI feel powerful yet approachable, so you'll have significant ownership in shaping product vision, strategy, and the end-to-end user experience.
What You'll Own
  • Set design vision and strategy for our AI-powered platform, ensuring each feature and flow is intuitive, consistent, and polished.
  • Develop user-centric solutions through user research, journey mapping, and prototyping, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to validate ideas.
  • Craft visual and interaction designs that reduce complexity, build trust, and highlight the power of Gradial's generative AI capabilities.
  • Contribute to our design system by establishing patterns, components, and guidelines that scale across the product.
  • Rapidly prototype concepts using design tools or code to communicate ideas and gather feedback in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Advocate for users' needs and ensure diverse stakeholder perspectives are considered throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Help grow and mentor a culture of design excellence through design reviews, feedback, and knowledge sharing.
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of product design experience, with a focus on user-centric, data-informed workflows (enterprise/B2B SaaS or AI/ML product experience is a plus).
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates polished UI craftsmanship, thoughtful interaction design, and innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • A track record of end-to-end product ownership in ambiguous environments, from discovery to delivery.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, comfortable working with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to align on vision and execution.
  • A passion for AI and emerging technologies, with the desire to build solutions that let everyday users harness the power of generative models.
  • Experience with prototyping and user testing, and ideally some comfort with front-end code (HTML/CSS/JS) to bring designs to life.
Nice to Have
  • Technical understanding of LLMs/AI
  • Builder mindset
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $160,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for performance-based bonuses and equity awards. Gradial offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental & vision insurance, 401K retirement plan, paid time off, paid sick leave and other employee wellness programs.
You'll thrive here if you...
  • Embrace AI as a core tool for problem-solving, creativity and scale.
  • Show a strong work ethic, high ownership and bias toward action.
  • Communicate with clarity and curiosity.
  • Thrive in fast-paced, hyper-growth environments; where building is always better than maintaining the status quo.

What we offer
  • Meaningful equity and competitive salary
  • Comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage
  • Fast-paced environment with autonomy and ownership
  • Real impact, zero bureaucracy
  • A front-row seat to building category-defining AI infrastructure

AI Literacy & Interviewing Tools
As an AI-first company, we prioritize AI literacy as a core competency in our hiring decisions. We're excited by candidates who thoughtfully apply AI tools in their work, but during interviews we're focused on you. This is your opportunity to show how you think, communicate, and solve problems. Over-reliance on AI-generated responses during the interview process (especially when it obscures your own voice) will result in disqualification. We want to understand your unique perspective and how you approach challenges, both with and without AI.
