The Graphic Design Teacher instructs students in graphic design principles, digital illustration, branding, and print/digital media production.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
  • Experience in graphic design and/or visual communication.
TEA Certification in one of the following:
  • Secondary Industrial Arts: Grades 6-12
  • Secondary Industrial Technology: Grades 6-12
  • Technology Applications: Early Childhood-Grade 12; Grades 8-12
  • Technology Education: Grades 6-12
  • Trade and Industrial Education: Grades 6-12 - This assignment requires appropriate work approval; Grades 8-12 - This assignment requires appropriate work approval.
  • Trade and Industrial Workforce Training: Grades 6-12. This assignment requires appropriate work approval.

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Understand and apply graphic design principles, digital illustration, branding, and print/digital media production.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Integrate Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Oversee design projects, client-based work, and portfolio development.
  • Maintain a safe, productive digital design environment.
  • Support and prepare students for industry-aligned certifications (Adobe Certified Professional in Illustrator/InDesign/Photoshop).
  • Prepare students for competitive events (e.g., SkillsUSA).
  • Secure opportunities for work-based learning and internships.
