Job description

Position Summary
Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for a Configuration Manager SME for the Engineering, Professional, and Administrative Support Services (EPASS) Contract at Peterson SFB supporting SYD 85 in the S5. As the Configuration Manager SME you will provide Software Configuration Management oversight during the Software Application Lifecycle Management of our product. The contractor will drive the adoption and development of automated solutions and processes to accomplish Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD).
This is a full-time position at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado
Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:
  • Oversight of the governing Configuration Management (CM) processes as part of the Software Development Lifecycle process (SDLP); such as configuration control, branch management, base-lining, auditing, software identification, product release and distribution.
  • Support multiple software development teams across multiple product lines.
  • Administration and maintenance of CM systems and development environments.
  • Management and maintenance of automated build process; including the development of scripts.
  • Monitoring of build status and resolution of build issues in collaboration with the Development teams.
  • Integrate automated unit testing, and post build automated integration testing.
  • Integrate and manage security analysis tools into the build pipeline.
  • Management and control of third-party software components and packages integrated with the product.
  • Develop and enhance automation processes to improve efficiency throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Perform research of new technologies or component versions and their impact on the product.
  • Deliver project documentation required by software development process, such as configuration management plans, software package specifications, bill of materials.
  • Participate in quality audits as the configuration management SME.
  • Contributes to the improvement and maintenance of the Quality Management System, with focus on configuration management and software development.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior personnel.
  • Perform analysis and troubleshooting of escalated issues from customer sites.
  • Ability to analyze information and communicate with clarity and effectiveness.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum/Kanban development methodologies.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Clearance: Minimum Active Secret Clearance, ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI level clearance
Education: High School Diploma
Years' experience: 20 years of directly related experience with proper certifications, 8 of which must be in the DoD OR,
  • BA/BS degree, and 15 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 of which must be in the DoD OR,
  • Advanced Degree (MS) and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 years of which must be in the DoD

Additional Experience:
  • Configuration Management experience within the Department of Defense.
  • Experience performing HW and SW configuration audits
  • Experience performing the technical administrative activities necessary to manage CM tools for inventory control, version control, data duplication, and media labeling
  • An in-depth understanding of the configuration change control process, the role of the Change Control Board, and change control documentation
  • Experience developing briefings for management
  • Understanding of all phases of the software development life cycle
  • Ability to enter and manipulate data in a database

Preferred Qualifications:
Certification: PMP
Clearance: Active TS clearance
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: 10 years of experience in program/project management with 3 years of relevant experience within the Department of Defense (DoD)
Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Previous A&AS experience
