ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize Construction is seeking a seasonal, full-time Screed Operator to join our team in Saskatoon, SK. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring high-quality asphalt paving operations while maintaining safety, efficiency, and teamwork on job sites. The successful candidate will operate the screed on a paver, monitor material production, and contribute to the overall success of our paving operations. This is a full-time seasonal position 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Fully trained in the operations and capability of the screed on a paver.
  • Work as part of a team to operate the paver efficiently.
  • Perform repair and maintenance on the paver under the direction of the plant foreman or lead hand.
  • Ensure accurate thickness of asphalt and monitor material production within specifications.
  • Ensure consistent feed to maintain a quality product.
  • Assist with various job site operations as needed.
  • Create an atmosphere of teamwork and seek out best practices.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Work Experience: Min 2 years of experience operating a screed
Required Training/Certifications: Valid Class 5 Driver's License
Required Technical Skills: Knowledge of City of Saskatoon Specifications, ability to read survey markings
Travel Requirements: Frequent travel between job sites within the City of Saskatoon and surrounding areas

Additional Requirements:

  • Mechanically inclined with experience in basic equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including crouching, bending, lifting, and kneeling.
  • Proven ability to follow safe work procedures and complete field risk assessments.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
