Job Title: Manual Machinist (Lathe-Focused)

Job Description

This role focuses on setting up and operating manual machining equipment, with a strong emphasis on manual lathes and some work on manual mills. You will use your machining expertise to produce precise components from blueprints in a fast-paced manufacturing environment on the 2nd shift.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual lathes to produce parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Perform manual machining operations on lathes and mills, ensuring accurate dimensions and high-quality finishes.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining operations, sequences, and required tooling.
  • Select, install, and adjust appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machine settings for each job.
  • Inspect parts during and after machining to verify conformance to specifications, making adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and follow all safety procedures while operating machinery.
  • Monitor machine performance and report any mechanical issues or irregularities to the appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality standards.

  • Proven experience setting up and operating manual lathes in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
