Part-Time Produce Clerk at our West location (17010 90 Ave NW) Edmonton, AB

The Produce Clerk ensures the produce department is performing in an effective and efficient manner at all times. Clerks will support and follow Italian Centre Shop Ltd. mission and values.

Schedule Details 

  • Monday to Sunday Availability 
  • Shifts vary between 7:00 a.m. till 9:15 p.m. 
  • Mornings, Mid-day, Evenings and Weekends Required

What you'll be doing 

  • Rotating produce in cooler and on floor regularly
  • Working in coolers by putting produce away
  • Stocking shelves and bins
  • Cleaning and packaging produce for displays
  • Assisting customers locate items when required
  • Keeping work area clean and free of debris
  • Assist with shipping and receiving of produce
  • Mark incoming produce with receiving dates
  • Suggestion selling
  • Keeping work area clean and free of debris
  • Other duties as required

We'll train the right candidate, but most successful candidates have these: 

  • High School or GED from an accredited school system or program is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year experience in a customer focused role

  • Excellent listening skills and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work under pressure, while maintaining a professional image at all times
  • Work independently with little direct supervision
  • Have a well-balanced concern for both task and people
  • Have a genuine concern for needs of customers

Working conditions 

  • Job requires employee to work a variety of shifts including mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Employees will be exposed to cold temperatures when accessing our refrigerated areas.
  • Job also requires employee to work with challenging customers and/or situations at times.

Physical requirements 

  • Job requires a variety of standing, walking and sitting.
  • Job also includes manual and repetitive tasks.
  • Individuals will be required to lift, move, and push up to 50lbs
