WHAT WE NEED
This role would be strongly partnered with the Procurement Director and serve as the function's center of excellence leader to build upon a Procurement operating model which will include performance management, efficiency enablement, and structuring a governance model. They play a critical role in the company's ability to deliver high-quality, cost-effective products to our customers through the team effectively sourcing direct raw materials, on a timely basis at the lowest total cost, consistent with forecast requirements. This role would be strongly partnered with the Program Director in order to drive all strategic initiatives within the Strategic Procurement team to build a strong foundation for current and future growth.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Make processes more efficient and scalable, working to ensure the highest quality of our operations, and minimize operational risk.
  • In partnership with the Category Managers, manage the development and execution of sourcing strategies for each category that incorporates customer requirements, product requirements, market conditions, business risk, and supplier capabilities.
  • Guide team members to provide global and domestic industry assessment for all assigned categories in order to ensure BRF is considering all elements that can impact our source of supply and competitive advantage.
  • Handle and guide team through procurement urgent issue resolution and escalations.
  • Guide team to develop clear delineation between controlled and uncontrolled spend in order to institute strategy to manage/mitigate cost/risk for uncontrolled spend (market driven cost inputs).
  • Development of supplier management program, scorecards, supplier quality, supplier financial health, management of top strategic suppliers, Executive level meetings (QBRs), and Biannual Business Reviews.
  • Lead projects related to target operating model design, process design, and governance.
  • Drive a strong communication style with internal customers to ensure understanding of business objectives, expectations, and specific requirements.
  • Guide team to create competition within categories to drive bottom-line impact and risk mitigation.
  • Use key reports and consultants to obtain market intelligence; i.e. long and short-term market drivers.
  • Implement strategy and targets to drive cost out of controllable spend (negotiable inputs, processing, waste).
  • Collaborate with internal business stakeholders to drive innovation and build efficiencies for the operation.
  • Manage and guide team to develop annual budgets for assigned categories.
  • Manage suppliers based on metrics collected via scorecard across BRF disciplines.
  • Mentor employees in alignment with BRF's values.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in business-related discipline (i.e. business, economics, finance, accounting, supply chain) is preferred.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of procurement experience, including supplier quality, engagement, program governance.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of people management experience in procurement.
  • Manufacturing industry experience required; preferably high mix, high volume product lines.
  • Strong supplier management skills, have had responsibility for industry assessments, financial analysis, negotiating contracts, and cost modeling.
  • Strategic commodity procurement experience, preferably with understanding of tracking of futures, and reading market reports.
  • Ability to welcome and embrace ambiguity and collaborate across teams to develop procurement approaches and cost-saving initiatives.
  • An inquisitiveness that drives you to dig into understanding the business, identifying bottlenecks and opportunities, and then create solutions.
  • Past experience being managed and managing to cost-savings objectives.
  • High level of process improvement and willingness to drive business forward.
  • Experience with an ERP system required. Systems proficiency with SAP desired.
  • A drive, and desire to solve problems with data.
