Beauty Systems Group, branded as Cosmo Prof or Armstrong McCall stores, along with its direct sales consultants, sell professionally branded products intended for use and resale by salons to retail consumers.

Essential Function: 

Responsible for procurement of indirect / goods not for sale and commodities essential for corporate, retail sales and operations. Monitor, analyze, and evaluate consumption trends, shipping history, services, and quality of goods to determine operational impact, financial exposure, cost benefits, best value, yield, and cost of ownership.  

Responsible for the development and implementation of category management processes based on industry best standards.   Works with leadership and is responsible for the development and execution of the procurement strategy which aligns and supports the business strategies. 

Supports financial reporting and contributes to procurement’s savings annual commitments, and SBH directed projects.

The Senior Procurement Manager will keep pace with the demands of a dynamic business climate, anticipate problems and develop appropriate solutions, establish strong internal business partnerships, and provide the leadership necessary to effectively implement these initiatives.

 Responsibilities

  • Build strong business partnerships with internal stakeholders to understand business needs, support procurement priorities, and drive effective sourcing outcomes.

  • Manage assigned categories by conducting RFI/RFQ/RFPs and identifying opportunities to bid services, materials, or commodity requirements. Review and evaluate spend, proactively identify new suppliers or vendor consolidation opportunities, and drive savings identification, value realization, and reporting to support procurement commitments and deliver best value to the business.

  • Facilitate the procurement intake process by reviewing requests, confirming required approvals and documentation, and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure timely routing and completion. Drive procurement governance, process improvements, and adoption of best practices to improve efficiency, transparency, and compliance across the organization.

  • Manage direct reports by assigning priorities, providing coaching and feedback, supporting development, and ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with procurement objectives.

  • Apply a strong procurement skill set, including sourcing strategy, supplier management, negotiation, spend analysis, and contract lifecycle support, to deliver measurable value to the business.

  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, coordinate contract activities, and oversee contract compliance to ensure terms, conditions, service levels, and deliverables are met. Negotiate costs, payment terms, and favorable business terms for SBH while managing contract timelines, tracking, renewals, and supplier QBRs.

  • Develop guidelines, and provide coaching to departmental staff, in areas such as market analysis, spend analytics, finance, and other leading edge procurement methodologies.  Educates procurement staff and internal customers regarding Procurement standards and processes.  Coordinates daily duties (as appropriate) of department staff. 

 Knowledge, skills & abilities requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent with related experience and/or training. Procurement/Supply Chain certification, is a plus.

  • Minimum of 7 - 10 years of business experience responsible for supplier onboarding, procurement, spend metrics and management experience.

  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of managing staff and interacting with management. 

  • An in-depth understanding of industry standards as they apply to the Procurement and Supply Chain.

  • Experience developing and using Key Performance Indicators to manage the procurement process

  • Significant experience with sourcing business systems, equipment and services for the business.

  • Experience evaluating or monitoring contract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance to contractual obligations.

  • Experience with procure to pay systems – with implementation and ongoing maintenance

Working conditions & physical requirements

Location: Hybrid | Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday at the Sally Beauty Support Center, Legacy West (Plano, TX); Remote Thursday and Friday

The typical working environment is in the support center office, and the work is sedentary. Typically, the associate may sit comfortably to do the job. However, some tasks and activities may be walking, standing, bending, carrying light items such as papers, files, books, and small parts, driving an automobile to a store location, etc. These activities are not frequent and do not require significant physical demands to perform the work.

While involving everyday risks or discomforts, the work environment is designed with standard safety precautions. These precautions, typical of offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, residences, or commercial vehicles, include using safe work practices with office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, ensuring the safety and comfort of our associates.
