Job description

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate procurement activities for construction materials and equipment in support of federal construction projects
  • Lead tracking and coordination of long-lead equipment procurement activities to support project schedule milestones
  • Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders to vendors and suppliers
  • Coordinate and manage equipment and material submittal packages for client and engineering review
  • Monitor procurement schedules, manufacturing timelines, and equipment lead times
  • Follow up with vendors to ensure timely fabrication, shipment, and delivery of equipment and materials
  • Maintain procurement logs, tracking reports, and status updates for project teams
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to support project schedules and construction activities
  • Identify and communicate potential procurement or delivery delays and assist in developing mitigation strategies
  • Review vendor quotations, delivery schedules, and order confirmations for accuracy
  • Assist with expediting critical equipment and resolving procurement-related issues
  • Proactively identify procurement risks and develop recovery or mitigation plans for critical path materials and equipment
  • Support material receiving coordination and documentation as required
  • Maintain organized procurement records and documentation in accordance with project requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, construction administration, or project coordination
  • Experience supporting construction, MEP, or federal construction projects preferred
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, vendor coordination, and material tracking
  • Experience managing equipment submittals and purchase order documentation
  • Ability to read and understand construction documents and equipment schedules is a plus
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, and procurement requirements
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Experience with ERP systems, procurement software, or project management platforms preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
