Summary:
The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading local procurement operations, strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier relationship management, and purchasing activities across DHL eCommerce. This position manages the local Procurement team and partners closely with Operations, Finance, IT, HR, Legal, Tax, Transportation, Accounts Payable, and key business stakeholders to ensure the effective acquisition of goods and services while maximizing value, mitigating supplier risk, ensuring compliance, and delivering measurable cost savings.

The Procurement Manager supports sourcing strategies, supplier performance programs, procurement governance, and continuous improvement initiatives that support operational excellence and company financial objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Leadership & Team Management
    • Lead, coach, and develop procurement specialists to drive performance, engagement, and professional growth.
    • Manage workload prioritization and resource allocation to support local procurement and sourcing activities.
    • Ensure consistent application of procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
    • Support local sourcing activities, including supplier evaluations, competitive bidding, supplier selection, contract recommendations, and negotiations.
    • Develop and execute category strategies that optimize cost, quality, service, and supplier performance.
    • Identify cost savings, cost avoidance, and value creation opportunities.
    • Partner with business stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with operational and strategic objectives.
  • Supplier Relationship & Performance Management
    • Manage strategic supplier relationships to improve performance, service delivery, innovation, and business value.
    • Develop and maintain supplier performance through KPIs, scorecards, and business reviews, and drive corrective actions where required.
    • Support supplier risk management and business continuity initiatives to ensure supply reliability.
  • Local Procurement Operations & Governance
    • Oversee procurement activities across corporate, operational, and technology spend categories while ensuring compliance with policies, controls, and audit requirements.
    • Partner with Finance, Accounts Payable, Legal, Tax, and business stakeholders to support procurement operations, supplier onboarding, and issue resolution.
    • Serve as the functional lead and subject matter expert for SAP, Coupa, and procurement-related processes.
    • Drive continuous improvement of procurement systems, processes, and controls.
    • Serve as the primary owner for local contract management, including contract repository maintenance, renewal tracking, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Analytics & Reporting
    • Develop and analyze procurement metrics, spend data, supplier performance, and savings results to support decision-making.
    • Prepare management reports, dashboards, business reviews, and ad hoc analyses.
    • Identify opportunities to improve procurement efficiency, compliance, and service delivery through data-driven insights.
  • Business Partnership
    • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver effective procurement solutions.
    • Provide guidance and training on procurement policies, sourcing practices, and supplier management.
    • Support critical business initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of work experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive procurement, sourcing, supplier management, or purchasing experience.
  • Experience leading sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, and category management programs.
  • Experience with procurement systems, spend analysis, reporting, and supplier performance management.
  • Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Word required.

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

  • Experience with SAP required. Experience with SAP/MM preferred.
  • Detail oriented with strong problem-solving analytical orientation.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Able to make sound decisions based on company policy and procedure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to work against a plan and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects concurrently with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Regular sitting at workstation for 25 - 75% of the work shift.
  • Frequent standing and walking.
