Job Description
The Associate Finance Director, AbbVie Patient Services (APS) Immunology will provide financial leadership and decision support for APS Immunology, with accountability for overseeing the APS Immunology budget and ensuring financial plans, forecasts, and performance insights are accurate, well supported, and aligned to business priorities. This role will serve as a strategic finance partner to APS Immunology leadership, translating financial results, business drivers, and emerging opportunities or risks into clear recommendations that enable informed decision-making and disciplined investment management.
This highly visible position requires strong cross-functional partnering across Patient Services, Commercial Brand FP&A, Procurement and other key stakeholders. The Associate Finance Director will lead core planning and reporting processes, drive continuous improvement in financial models and deliverables, and manage and develop one direct report while fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and collaboration.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead financial planning and analysis for the Patient Services Immunology, including Plan, Update, LBE, LRP, monthly close, and management reporting.
  • Oversee Patient Services Immunology expense management, ensuring accurate financial records, reporting integrity, compliance with policies, and clear visibility to key cost drivers.
  • Develop and maintain financial models that distinguish fixed and volume-driven SG&A expenses, enabling reliable forecasting, sensitivity analysis, and business decision support as activity levels change.
  • Serve as the strategic finance partner to Patient Services Immunology leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, translating financial results, risks, and opportunities into clear recommendations and action plans.
  • Prepare and deliver leadership reporting packages with concise commentary on Actuals vs. Plan/LBE, emerging trends, performance gaps, investment needs, and opportunities to optimize spend.
  • Partner with Patient Services Business to evaluate business initiatives, resource needs, vendor spend, and operational changes impacting SG&A expenses.
  • Drive continuous improvement, simplification, and standardization of financial processes, reporting tools, and forecasting deliverables to improve accuracy, transparency, and cycle-time efficiency.
  • Manage, coach, and develop one direct report by setting clear priorities, and building analytical capability

Qualifications
  • Eight+ years of progressive Finance and/or Accounting experience
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and build strong cross functional relationships with stakeholders, as well as ability to work independently
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to take initiative and manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • Experience with large scale ERP and planning systems such as BPC and SAP preferred
