Assistant COO


Purpose Statement
To provide leadership for the district's operational programs in alignment with the mission of providing high quality
educational services. The Assistant Chief Operating Officer ensures that district resources are
managed efficiently, facilities and services operate safely, and all operational systems support teaching
and learning.

This job reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Essential Functions
Develop, administer, and oversee programs for bidding, purchasing, and procurement of district supplies and
equipment.
Administer the operation, maintenance, and construction of district facilities.
Assist with supervision of transportation operations, ensuring safe and efficient student transportation services.
Assist with oversight of district emergency management, safety, and security planning and execution.
Assist with contractual oversight of all operational contracts including but not limited to grounds, custodial,
maintenance, food service, transportation, CMAR, architects, engineers, etc.
Assist with nutrition services to ensure delivery of healthy and cost-effective meals for students.
Manage district real estate, insurance programs, and asset inventory.
Synchronize all operational efforts related to: operations, safety/security, technology, transportation, and nutrition
services.
Coordinate operational partnerships with outside agencies (city, county, state, federal, Fort Riley, and private
organizations).
Implement and advise on the District's Master Plan related to facilities, athletic fields, career and technical
education equipment, musical instruments, vehicles, kitchen equipment, and other support equipment.
Lead the district's energy conservation and sustainability efforts.
Provide analysis, reports, and recommendations to the COO, Superintendent, and Board of Education.
Perform other duties as assigned by the COO.
