Job description

Who are we hiring?  

The Senior Director Procurement Venue Operations will lead all venue management procurement activities related to MSG Entertainment, including but not limited to facility management goods and services, furniture fixtures and equipment (FF&E), and other operational needs for the venues.The Senior Director will collaborate closely with the Venue Management team, project stakeholders, and potential vendors and contractors to ensure planning, sourcing, purchasing, and vendor management activities are done in an efficient and compliant manner. 

What will you do? 

  • Plan and execute procurement strategies for all Venue Operations related projects including but not limited to FF&E procurement, vendor service & maintenance contracts, and consultant agreements.  
  • Prepare bid packages and run bid meetings and level bids for construction projects. 
  • Prepare RFQ and RFP bidder documentation to distribute to potential project vendors and contractors. 
  • Manage the competitive bidding process and assist Venue Operations team in evaluating proposals and negotiating best value including potential partnership opportunities.  
  • Reviewing and approving requisitions for goods or services associated with projects managed. 
  • Work with project stakeholders to help identify value engineering opportunities and evaluate capital costs against future operating expenses. 
  • Develop project budgets, track spending, and prepare reports and schedules in accordance with company policies and department needs. 
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders to ensure engagement in all activities and compliance with company policies and directives. 
  • Create and maintain purchasing "database" and procurement reports to assist Venue Operations and Development and Construction groups with comparative pricing for current and future venue projects. 
  • Assist Venue Operations management team with enterprise-wide capital project planning and execution as needed.
  • Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.  

What do you need to succeed?   

  • BS in Finance, Business, Purchasing, or an operations-related field; MBA preferred. 
  • At least 12+ years of experience in a general procurement role; minimum of four years of experience in venue or facilities management-related expenses (i.e., Operations, Maintenance, Production Technology, Food & Merchandise, Security, etc.). 
  • Understanding construction language and processes is a plus. 
  • Experience negotiating contracts and service agreements. 
  • Ability to effectively build relationships and maintain ongoing dialogue with executive management across various groups. 
  • Ability to translate goals into procurement opportunities and effectively communicate progress. 
  • Experience in venue facility maintenance, building infrastructure, and construction is a plus. 
  • Must have technical depth in procurement best practices, particularly in procurement transformation strategies, process optimization, and improvements with a focus on complete procure-to-pay processes. 
  • Hands-on experience with obtaining bids as well as use of a procurement system; Coupa experience is a plus. 
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organizational and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
