About this job

We're looking for a team-player that's passionate about analytics, innovation and strategy. This position will play a meaningful role helping CarMax use analytics and strategy to source, develop and manage our supply chain for automotive sublet and supplies to meet the evolving needs of our vehicle reconditioning processes. You will be an active member of the strategic sourcing team, providing analytical and data-driven, strategic guidance as this team negotiates and manages nearly $1B in annual spend and implements new supply chain technologies.

Sublet (i.e. specialized repair work performed by third parties.)

What you will do - Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical and automotive sublet (outsourced services) and supplies expertise in the development and implementation of parts procurement tools
  • Identify key data and information to be used in parts purchasing recommendation engine. Work collaboratively with functional and technical experts to develop, refine, and automate purchasing rules.
  • Lead the development of dashboards and reports for monitoring parts purchases and identifying savings opportunities.
  • Partner with Category Owners to develop and monitor key performance metrics and set the strategic direction for the suppliers
  • Design and analyze tests and reports to evaluate purchasing trends and measure savings using analytical findings to make recommendations and influence rollout decisions
  • Identify improvement opportunities and conduct deep dive analyses to drive continuous improvement
  • Perform data-driven analysis to support prioritization decisions and address critical questions
  • Regularly present decision recommendations to CarMax leadership

Qualifications and Requirements

Experience / Education

  • 5+ years of business experience in consulting, strategy analytics, web analytics, financial analysis, or engineering with 3+ years Procurement and Supply Chain analytics experience preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree in a business or quantitative field with a strong academic record; graduate degree is a plus

Work Location and Arrangement: This role will be based out of the CarMax Home Office in Richmond, VA and Associates will work onsite 4 days per week.

Work Authorization: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.Sponsorship will not be considered for this specific role.

    • Online Survey Software (knowledge of Qualtrics preferred)
    • Usability Testing (websites or other software)
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, SQL / Database required

Experience with Python, Peoplesoft, Coupa, Oracle Supply Chain Management, and internal CarMax systems is a plus

The annual salary for this position is:

$81,600.00 - $122,400.00

May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Benefits:

Except as otherwise required by state law, CarMax Associates are entitled to the following paid sick, vacation, and holiday time.

Associates that are considered full-time hourly or commission/incentive eligible:

  • To earn up to 48 hours of sick time per year accrued on a per pay period basis and between 80 hours and 200 hours per year of vacation time after a 90 day waiting period depending on years of continuous service with the Company.
  • For 8 hours of pay for each of a total of 6 paid scheduled holidays per year plus 1 floating holiday. If such an Associate does work on a scheduled holiday due to business need, they are eligible for Holiday Premium Pay.

Associates considered full-time salaried are entitled to paid time away with no specified limit as needed for sick, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, floating holiday, etc. subject to manager approval.
