Job description

Elite Corporate Solutions is currently recruiting a Procurement Manager on behalf of a leading maritime transportation company. This position will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies, managing the full Procure-to-Pay (P2P) lifecycle, overseeing procurement operations for vessels, and leading a team of Buyers to ensure the timely acquisition of goods and services while driving cost savings, supplier performance, and operational excellence.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional with leadership experience, strong contract management capabilities, and a passion for continuous improvement in a fast-paced maritime environment.
What You'll Do
• Support the development and execution of the company's Procurement Strategy, Procurement Plan, and long-term roadmap.
• Lead and manage Buyers, providing daily guidance and oversight of procurement activities.
• Oversee purchasing activities for vessels, barges, maintenance projects, equipment, parts, supplies, and services.
• Manage the entire Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process, ensuring efficient execution from requisition through payment.
• Ensure purchase orders are managed from creation through completion, including supplier payments and documentation.
• Conduct spend analysis, category reviews, and contract analysis to identify savings and process improvement opportunities.
• Support CAPEX and Engineering teams with sourcing, contracting, and execution of maintenance and improvement projects.
• Lead RFQ and RFP processes, including bid evaluations, supplier negotiations, and vendor selection.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance evaluations, Approved Vendor Lists (AVL), and supplier improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and contractual obligations.
• Monitor procurement KPIs and implement initiatives to improve efficiency, cost savings, and supplier performance.
• Drive continuous improvement projects focused on procurement processes, PO efficiency, invoice matching, and operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate closely with Finance, Operations, Engineering, and other stakeholders to support business objectives.
What We're Looking For
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Maritime industry procurement experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes and procurement best practices.
• Experience managing contracts, supplier relationships, and procurement teams.
• Proven experience supporting CAPEX projects and strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Strong understanding of contract negotiation and contract administration.
• Experience conducting spend analysis, supplier evaluations, and category management.
• Lean Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement experience preferred.
• Experience using ERP systems (Great Plains experience is a plus).
• Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
