Job description

The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture.

Summary

Maintain, support, and continuously improve procurement systems, data, and process capabilities with a primary focus on SAP Ariba (upstream and downstream) and enablement reporting-ensuring stable operations, effective user support, robust access/security, accurate data, and measurable adoption.

Key Responsibilities

Ariba Operations Support (Day-to -Day) 

  • Provide functional support across Ariba processes (e.g., buying/channel usage, contracts/sourcing workflows as applicable), including triage and resolution of user issues and service requests.
  • Monitor and support business continuity activities including outage awareness/communications via the established IT/help desk process.
  • Maintain and respond to incoming requests via the designated procurement enablement intake channel (e.g., enablement inbox / ticket queues).

SAP Ariba Administration, Technical Enablement & Maintenance

  • Support quarterly release readiness: review release impacts, coordinate testing of impacted features prior to production changes, and communicate business impacts/training needs with stakeholders.
  • Support system issue resolution and enhancements through ticket submission/escalation to SAP Ariba and coordination with internal IT/SAP product support.
  • Maintain accurate Ariba admin documentation and job aids; ensure documentation remains current following releases and process changes.
  • Develop a strategic overview and adoption plan for the Ariba product evolution roadmap.

Catalogues, Supplier Enablement & Content Maintenance

  • Support execution and maintenance of punch-out and hosted catalogues, including administration of catalogue/CMS updates where assigned
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders on catalogue onboarding/updates and ensure timely resolution of catalogue-related operational issues.
  • Support Guided Buying communications to end users and assist with change management activities

Security, Access Controls & Audit Support

  • Administer or coordinate user access changes through the approved access request process; verify access provisioning completion.
  • Support elevated access governance including periodic review activities (e.g., export review, pivot-based analysis of groups/users, identification of access changes required, and submission of service requests).
  • Maintain and support Ariba security role structures and assist with audits/controls evidence where needed (e.g., access verification artifacts, review logs).

Data, Reporting & Basic Analytics

  • Produce and maintain basic Power BI reporting to support procurement operations and enablement metrics (dashboards, visuals, filtering/slicers, model navigation as required).
  • Support data quality and reporting readiness for Ariba-derived datasets; collaborate with IT/data engineering on interfaces and data pipelines where required
  • Perform basic analysis and communicate insights clearly to stakeholders (e.g., adoption trends, request volumes, catalogue status, security review findings).
  • Facilitate data cleanup activities (e.g. contracts and sourcing) with support from end users

Training, Enablement & Continuous Improvement

  • Coordinate and/or deliver training for new users/business units (e.g., category managers) requesting Ariba contract management usage; maintain training content/job aids.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, documentation improvements, and increased automation within procurement system workflows.
Typical Education

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Relevant Experience
  • 5+ years related experience and/or training
  • Required 

    • Demonstrated experience supporting procurement processes and procurement systems, with hands-on capability to operate, administer, and maintain SAP Ariba in a business setting.
    • Strong customer service, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
    • Basic data analysis and reporting skills in Power BI, Power Automate including working with models/visuals and common controls (filters, slicers, sorting) and connecting to data sources as needed.

    Preferred 

    • Working knowledge of database structures and/or SQL; data staging concepts and collaborating with data engineering teams.
    • Experience working with quarterly access reviews and role-based security governance.
    • Exposure to process improvement, workflow automation, or related tooling in procurement ecosystems.
Required Certifications
  • Any SAP Ariba certifications are highly preferred but not required.
