Job Title: Superintendent of Construction
Job Description

The Superintendent of Construction oversees all daily field operations for commercial and multifamily projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to a high standard of quality. This role manages and coordinates multiple subcontractors, develops short-term schedules, enforces safety practices, and maintains strict adherence to project plans, specifications, and budget requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily field operations across all phases of construction for commercial and multifamily projects.
  • Manage and coordinate multiple subcontractors on site, ensuring adherence to project schedule, scope, and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain detailed short-term (3-week) lookahead schedules in collaboration with Project Managers.
  • Lead site safety efforts by enforcing OSHA standards, conducting regular safety meetings, and promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Monitor quality control to ensure all work complies with construction plans, specifications, and company standards.
  • Supervise and coordinate larger base build and ground-up projects, including core and shell construction.
  • Oversee project scheduling activities, ensuring critical path tasks and milestones are met.
  • Support budget oversight by monitoring field progress, labor, and material usage in alignment with project financial goals.
  • Coordinate and interface with inspectors and relevant authorities to ensure timely inspections and compliance with codes and regulations.
  • Manage and coordinate multiple trades simultaneously, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) trades.
  • Interpret and review construction drawings and specifications to guide field execution and resolve issues.
  • Utilize construction management tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Project to track progress, document activities, and communicate with project stakeholders.
  • Provide strong on-site leadership to field staff and subcontractors, fostering collaboration, accountability, and clear communication.
  • Identify and address field issues proactively, escalating concerns when necessary to maintain schedule and quality.
  • Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with company policies, safety procedures, and industry best practices.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial or multifamily construction projects.
  • Proven experience managing larger base build and ground-up projects, including projects up to $80M in value.
  • Strong background in construction management and field supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple trades simultaneously, with MEP coordination experience preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling, and safety practices.
  • Ability to interpret and understand construction drawings, specifications, and related documentation.
  • Proficiency with construction management tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Project.
  • OSHA 30 certification and strong familiarity with OSHA standards and safety requirements.
  • Experience managing many contractors on site and overseeing inspectors and inspection processes.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to guide, motivate, and hold subcontractors and field teams accountable.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective coordination with project stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to monitor and support project scheduling and budget objectives.

Work Environment

The position involves regular interaction with subcontractors, inspectors, and project teams, as well as frequent use of construction management technologies such as Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Project. The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring a strong field presence, consistent monitoring of safety and quality, and the ability to adapt to changing project needs and conditions.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $150000.00/yr.

4% match on 401k, 2 weeks PTO, sick time and 9 vacation days.
