Duties and responsibilities:

  • Load, unload and move materials in yard; shovels loose material into hoppers
  • Clean work areas, machines and equipment in the plant including cooking processing equipment (cookers, augers, process tanks and tankers)
  • Operate equipment as instructed
  • Operate forklift-Training available
  • Removes trash from plant
  • Paints equipment as necessary
  • Interact with others in a professional and ethical manner
  • Follow department and company procedures
  • Keep up regular attendance and punctuality; regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this company
  • Other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the business. These responsibilities may change from time to time are business needs evolve over time.
Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Professional Certifications, Education, Experience and Travel Requirements

  • Knowledge of production processes and operation of equipment
  • Skill to control equipment and monitor operations of it
  • Ability to move material with or without specialized equipment
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • 1 year experience in a production setting
  • Less than 5% travel requirements

Physical Demands/Requirements:

Constantly (over 2/3):

  • Move and transport materials up to 50-60 lbs with or without specialized lifting, moving and rigging equipment
  • Moves across wet/slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Must be able to position self to perform duties around industrial equipment

Frequently (1/3-2/3):

  • Exposed to work in outdoor weather conditions
  • Ascends/descends heights while maintaining balance
  • Utilizes tools and equipment such as a shovel to move material
  • Remains in a seated position while using multilimb coordination to operate forklift

Occasionally (under 1/3):

  • Detect and observe conditions that need to be addressed such as equipment that needs to be painted or materials that need to be moved/removed
  • Communicates with staff in the process of performing duties
