Position Type: Full-time, non-exempt Reports to: Escrow Officer
Position Summary
An Escrow Assistant (Pre-Closing Specialist) is responsible for completing many of the tasks involved prior to the closing of a real estate transaction. This position serves as the initial contact with many internal and external parties including lenders, attorneys, buyers/sellers, real estate agents, and underwriters.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinates the collection of information and successfully communicates with all parties by phone and email
  • Examine Title Orders, Purchase Agreements, Title Exams, and other legal documents
  • Interview buyers and sellers for information necessary to the closing process
  • Enter information and notes into SoftPro
  • Review correspondence to ensure the pre-closing process is proceeding as scheduled
  • Obtain payoff statements and updates as needed
  • Coordinate closing date, time, and location with all parties
  • Assist the Escrow Officer with ensuring all requirements have been met prior to closing
  • Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner
  • Completes other tasks as assigned by supervisor and attorneys
