Description:

Join Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery in Menomonie and become part of a team known for producing award-winning cheese! We offer competitive pay, excellent benefits, paid time off, and a stable four-day workweek.


The Cheese Processor in the Make Room plays a key role in producing high-quality cheese in a safe and sanitary environment. This position involves monitoring production processes, handling cheese throughout manufacturing, maintaining accurate records, and working closely with other departments to ensure efficient operations.


We are looking for dependable individuals who are eager to learn and grow in the dairy food industry.


Pay & Schedule

  • Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour
  • Increase to $22.00 per hour after 120 days
  • $2.00/hour shift differential for all hours worked between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM
  • Shift: 2nd Shift
  • Hours: 6:00 PM - 4:00 AM
  • Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
  • No weekends and Wednesdays off!

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate cheese production equipment and cheese tables
  • Monitor production processes, including pH levels, starter measurements, and production lines
  • Mold, flip, move, and rework cheese as needed
  • Operate and maintain brine room and serum pump functions
  • Accurately complete production records and documentation
  • Perform cleaning and sanitation throughout the shift following Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and sanitary work environment
  • Communicate effectively with team members across departments
  • Cross-train and assist in other production areas as needed
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and food safety standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and follow directions
  • Ability to understand, speak, read, and write in English
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer knowledge preferred, but training will be provided
  • Dependable, punctual, and responsible
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn and work in the dairy food industry

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds repetitively
  • Ability to stand for 8-10 hours per shift
  • Ability to squat, kneel, bend, and climb stairs

Work Environment

Food manufacturing plant environment. Must follow all food safety and plant safety policies and regulations. Exposure to cleaning chemicals is required as part of sanitation duties.
