Job description

Position: Mortgage Processor (not remote)
Department: Mortgage Operations
Location: Wichita, KS (on-site)
Status: FT/Hourly

Responsibilities and Expectations
  1. Mortgage Processor
  • Ensure loans are processed and closed in accordance with established agency and investor guidelines, policies, procedures, and clear to close conditions
  • Order property abstract/title, survey (if appl), appraisals, and other verifications as required
  • Review documents for accuracy and completeness prior to submitting to underwriting
  • Manage pipeline daily to ensure deadlines are met
  • Interact with the Lenders to resolve file discrepancies and, as necessary, request documentation
  • Act as liaison with borrowers, customers, other bank employees, outside entities to facilitate loan processes
  • Coordinate the smooth process of the loan closing with the title company and lender to ensure all loans are processed in a timely manner
  • Complete Processing/Closing Compliance checklist on all loans and upload to loan file
  • Disburse loan funds by initiating wire amount through bank wire program or disburse by check if needed
  • Assist in resolution of investor and/or Quality Control requests
  • Perform all duties in accordance with Equity Bank mortgage standards
  • Store all loan documents in Loan Operating System (LOS) as received
  1. Mortgage Loan Compliance
  • Review all documents for accuracy
  • Ensure loans are in accordance with state and federal regulations such as, but not limited to, RESPA, HMDA and Fair Lending Practices
  • Stay up to date on the changing rules and regulations pertaining to both private and government-insured mortgages
  • Work in accordance to published department service level agreement
  • Benchmark of less than 5% error ratio as documented through Quality Control reports, Internal Audits, External Audits and Regulatory Examinations
  1. Employee is responsible for understanding and following the applicable laws and regulations for their job responsibilities including but not limited to Equity Bank Business Ethic and Conduct policy, Bank Secrecy Act, Information security, and Suspicious Activity reporting requirements
  1. Perform other duties as assigned, required, or requested
Required Skills amp; Education
  • Working knowledge of Encompass Loan Operating System (LOS) is a plus
  • 1-2 years Loan Processing/Closing experience (FHA, VA, USDA, and Conventional) with strong agency guideline knowledge
  • TRID experience
  • Ability to make decisions in a time sensitive manner
    • Computer skills, Microsoft Office
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional manner
    • Knowledge of compliance and disclosure requirements
