Job description

The Centralย Sterileย Technician I performs decontamination, preparation, assembly, sterilization and distribution of surgical, diagnostic and clinical instrumentation and reusable medical devices in accordance with HSPC (formally known as IAHCSMM) or CBSPD. AAMI, AORN, JCHO requirements and recommendations. The CSI will follow all Centralย Sterileย policies and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Associates Degree or Graduate from an accreditedย Sterileย Processingย or Surgical Tech Program.
  • Minimum One (1) or more years of job related experience inย Sterileย Processingย preferred.
  • Knowledge of sterilization supplies, equipment and instruments
  • Knowledge of organizing, containing, and transporting items of varying compounds, textures or quantities
  • Knowledge of transporting and disposing of hazardous materials and sharp objects according to hospital procedures.
  • Knowledge of sterilization procedures of various equipment and instruments
  • Knowledge of wrapping and repackaging sterilized instruments
  • Skill in using sterilization equipment and instruments and arranging instruments on surgical trays
  • Basic computer skills.
