• The purpose of this procedure is to define and establish the functions, duties, authority, and responsibilities of the Plant Manager position for Todd’s.

The function of the Plant Manager is to manage all aspects of the liquid facility including Profit and Loss of the facility.

• Education
• Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Equivalent
• Preferred: Business Management Degree and HACC Certification in Food Safety
• Experience
• Required: Computer Proficiency and exposure to ERP systems.
• Required: 3 Years of Experience Managing up to 20 Employees
• Required: 1 Years of Experience Managing Multiple Production Lines
• Preferred: 3 Years of Experience Managing Multiple Production Lines in a environment that requires food safety inspection and auditing.

• Production Facility is a controlled smoke free environment.
• Employees will be expected to wash hands before entering Production Center and follow required GMP’s.
• Employees will be expected to wear gloves, masks, and other essential protection equipment as required by Quality Control.

• The Plant Manager reports to the General Manager.
• In absence of the Operations Manager, the Plant Manager reports to the Operations Manager
• The Operations Manager covers the management responsibilities for the Plant Manager when the Plant Manager is absent.
• The Department and Line Lead Positions report to The Plant Manager.
• The Plant Manager covers the management responsibilities of the Line Lead Positions and fills in for the Production Scheduler as necessary when reporting positions are absent.
• The Plant Manager Works with The Production Supervisor, The Operations Manager, The Quality Manager, and The Receiving and Shipping Lead/Manager To maximize throughput through the Production facility.

• The Plant Manager has the authority to delegate tasks to anyone under his/her direct authority based on their trained experience and ability to perform the functions.
• The Plant Manager has the Authority to Write up Employees, Enforce the Company Employee Manual, Discipline Employees and Evaluate Employees Under His/her Direct Supervision. The Production Manager has the Authority to Hire and Fire Employees Under Direct Supervision.

• Responsible for the Production Quality and Quantity of Work Through the
• Responsible for Profit and Loss of the Facility.
• Ensures all Quality Control Mandates and Good Management Practices are followed and actively Monitors and Models Quality Control Behavior
• Works with Production Supervisor to supports Work Center Production by Ensuring Staged Materials Are Moved in and out of Work Centers as Needed to Keep Production Moving Forward
• Manages Scheduling to Schedule Work Centers Based on Order Deadlines, Available Capacity, and Production Targets.
• Maintains an open orders log for the facility and manages the 42-21-10 production schedule of the facility.
• Responsible for direct communication with customers and manages the customer relationships once sales orders have been received by the customer. Communicates and informs customers when schedule disruptions occur and works with sales reps to minimize damage to customer relationships.
• Addresses any disruptions in throughput in production immediately and works with production supervisor to ensure production targets are achieved.Communicates with Receiving & Shipping Lead, Cooking Lead, and Quality Control Manager to Ensure Smooth Transition of Work through the Work Center.
• Develops work orders, BOM’s, and Production Work Processes for Work Centers for existing and new products.
• Works with the work area leads to Appropriately Schedule Employees to Work Centers Based on Abilities of Employees and Company Need.
• Ensures daily production records are completed correctly and processed timely.
• Ensures Quality Control Recommendations are Communicated with Work Center Leads And Are Implemented into Work Center Processes
• Reviews Time Studies with Management and Implements Time Saving Solutions In Supervised Work Centers as Needed to Achieve Production Targets.
• Conducts Peer Reviews and Evaluations of Performance for Positions Under Direct Supervision.
• Responsible for Reporting any Incidents or Accidents in Supervised Work Areas to Human Resources, Quality Control, and/or Engineering as Required by Company Guidelines.
• Works with Engineering/Operational Manager to Set Up Work Center Production and to Maximize Efficiencies Through the Work Center.
• Ensures all pre-production and post-production work has been completed to keep production schedule on track.
• Recognizes Allergens, Organics, and Kosher to Determine Proper Handling in The Liquid Products Facilities.
• Ensures supervised Work Center Areas are Cleaned Per FDA and SQF Guidelines at the end of each Shift. Works with Sanitation lead to ensure proper sanitation of zone 1 and zone 2 for production.
• Checks Finished Goods Paperwork and Work Orders for Work Centers and Ensures all Products Have Been Labeled and packaged correctly and moved to Finished Goods for Shipping.
• Understands HACCP and Acidified food requirements of the Facility and works with the SQF practitioner to enforce and support food safety goals of the facility.
• Responsible for Managing weekly payroll, employee scheduling, and time off based on Todd’s employee policies.
• Works with Production Line Leads to Determine Best Practices and Processes to Complete Work in the Work Centers.
• Works closely with Maintenance / Engineering and Operations Manager of Any Equipment Break Downs, Needs for Machine Set Up on Production Lines, and Submits Work Order Tickets to Maintenance /Engineering as Necessary to Ensure Consistent Production Through the Work Centers.
• Works with executive team to set Cap X priorities for year, set up cost control budget, and develop profit and cash flow goals for the year.
• Assists with the Training of Production Line Leads to align Work Center Goals with Overall Annual Production Goals.

The General Manager will evaluate the performance of the Plant Manager.

• All Quality Goals Have Been Met for the Production for Todd’s Liquid Food Facility.
• All production and throughput goals have been achieved in the Facility.
• The Production Lines Have Been Able to Maintain Quality Employees and Production Lines are Staffed to Meet Sold Capacity.
• Plant Manager Has Effectively Managed Todd’s Production Lines and Has Met Production Targets for the Facility.
• Work Orders Have Been Processed through Production Lines with Minimal Errors.
• Plant Manager has properly staffed the Production Lines in accordance with budgeted goals of the company.
• Profit and Loss Goals have been achieved by Plant Manager
• Todd’s Liquid Products Facility Has Been Able to meet customer demands and has achieved greater than 98% On Time Delivery of Finished Goods.
• The Plant Manager Has Maintained Cooperative Working Relationships with All Employees and Managers
