Job description

Position Summary

To supervise Central Processing personnel and coordinate all departmental activities, to assess, standardize and monitor under the auspices of the Infection Control committee all sterilization equipment, protocols and practices across the entire Valley Health System, including hospital, Luckow Pavilion and all Valley Medical Group practices, submits regular reports to the Infection Control Committee.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred. Central Service Technician course recognized by the New Jersey Department of Health. National Central Service Technician Certification required. Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) required.

Experience

Experience: Five plus years of verifiable Central Processing experience.

Skills

Special Skills: Must have good hand-eye coordination and basic math skills. Ability to communicate and write in English. Effective customer relation skills. Effective supervisory and analytical skills. Ability to effectively problem-solve and follow-through to resolve issues/concerns/problems. Ability to use effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergent situations. Attentive to details and the ability to perform work accurately, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Understand the AAMI standards and implement new ideas utilizing the standards as a reference.
