Job Overview:

The Supervisor ensures the appropriate continued flow of equipment and instrumentation through SPD. Adequately plans, requisitions, stores and consults with the Operating Room Service Leaders and nursing personnel. Coordinates SPD activities with nursing staff and service leaders and develops timely, in-depth problem resolutions.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • Successful completion of an SPD Training course; CBSPD or IACHSMM certification as a technician or supervisor certification within two years of accepting position
  • Three to five years SPD experience including comprehensive knowledge of surgical instruments
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all processing equipment used in Sterile Processing
  • Must be knowledgeable in all N.J. State Department of Health and AAMI regulations and standards

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures the appropriate continued flow of equipment and instrumentation through SPD
  • Adequately plans, requisitions, stores and consults with the Operating Room Service Leaders and nursing personnel
  • Coordinates SPD activities with nursing staff and service leaders and develops timely, in-depth problem resolutions
  • Cooperates and consults with the Materials Manager to maintain equipment and supplies and in the evaluation of these items
