Responsibilities
Supervises and directs the activities of the Sterile Processing Department, for the purpose of providing sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment, and service for the care and treatment of patients, utilizing knowledge of aseptic techniques and body mechanics.

The range for the role is $62,361. - $77,951. annual salary
Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining a team member's compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
Qualifications
Minimum Education: Five to seven years experience as a Sterile Processing Technician, with previous charge or lead technician experience. Certified as Sterile Processing Technician preferred. Proficiency in computer, word processing and spreadsheet programs is helpful.
Minimum Experience: Five to seven years hospital experience in Sterile Processing or Operating Room. Materials Management experience is a plus.
Required Certification/Registration: CST Certification highly preferred.
Physical Requirements: Standing and walking much of the day. Often has to lift and carry supplies and trays weighing up to 25 lbs. and may be called upon to push heavy supply carts through hospital corridors. In addition, performs normal office activities.
Working Conditions: Works in an area with no outside exposure; area is air-conditioned; frequent exposure to water and cleaning solutions; exposure to contaminated items limited by use of protective clothing & equipment (provided); exposure to sterilizing chemicals within legal limits. Contact with co-workers, nursing staff, surgical staff and obstetrical technicians, etc. No direct patient contact.
