Job description

Certification Required: CRCST
Certified Registered Central Service Technician
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Cleans, packages, sterilizes, and stores the supplies, instruments, and equipment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supports the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Facility.
  • Adheres to safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, physicians, and co workers
  • Maintains and promotes professional competence through continuing education and other learning experiences
  • Adheres to sterilization process policies and procedures
  • Correctly operates sterilizers, ultrasonic washers, and other equipment for processing items
  • Maintains inventory levels and accurate records
  • Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Requires constant and frequent judgment and response. Requires English language skills for interpersonal and telephone communication. Requires high-level visual and auditory acuity for timely response and patient care activities. Ability to move quickly in response to physician and patient needs, occasional overhead and low reaching, bending, and the ability to exert force of up to 50 lbs. occasionally, up to 20 lbs. frequently and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
  • This position requires approximately 0% to 10% travel.

SUPERVISION:
  • None

EDUCATION AND REQUIRED CREDENTIALS:
  • High School Diploma; Associate's Degree desirable or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certification Required: CRCST
    Certified Registered Central Service Technician

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
  • 0-2 years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of sterilization principles required
  • Experience in central processing functions preferred

The rate of pay for this position will depend on the successful candidate's work location and qualifications, including relevant education, work experience, skills, and competencies.
Hourly Rate: $22.84 - $35
