Great Hill is seeking a Badging Security Processing Specialist to support our federal government client in Silver Spring, Maryland. The objective of this work is to provide vital security functions that enhance the safety and security of personnel, facilities, and information for a large federal agency located in Maryland. Incumbents will provide administrative and clerical support for the security office focusing on the provision of security badges, processing visitors and new hires, capturing biometric information, and evaluating information for accuracy.

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Processing applicants, including foreign nationals and foreign travelers, through security procedures to determine whether the applicant meets the requirements for clearance and, if so, preparing the security documentation. This includes:
    • Evaluating and verifying applicant-supplied information for completeness and accuracy.
    • Verifying the applicant's identity and citizenship.
    • Fingerprinting applicant employees, contractors, volunteers, etc.
    • Processing fingerprint cards received from tentative employees/non-employees.
    • Capturing biometric photographs for Personal Identity Verification.
    • Participating in onboarding activities related to New Employee Orientation (NEO).
    • Working with Security Specialists to ensure paperwork/badges are ready for NEO.
  • Maintaining databases and assuring quality control of information.
  • Conduct the badging process.
  • Troubleshoot badge or badging equipment issues.
  • Brief customers on the personnel security process.
  • Provide process improvement recommendations.
  • Provide administrative functions / support.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with requirements of the Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12).
  • Familiarity with Federal Information Processing Standards 201-1 (FIPS 201-1).
  • Good knowledge of MS Office 365 and its constituent programs.

Desired Skills:

  • Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
  • 2 years of experience in the security field and preferably knowledge of personnel security processes in the federal government.
  • Familiarity with Service Now

Salary at Seneca is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The range of this position in other geographic locations may differ. The projected compensation range for this position is below. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of our total compensation package for employees.
