Job Summary:
The Associate, Transaction and Processing is tasked with overseeing and maintaining the status of real estate taxes, ensuring that such taxes are paid within the required timeframes. The role includes the preparation of escrow analysis and payment of commercial real estate taxes. Additionally, the associate will be responsible for reviewing various ad hoc reports concerning real estate taxes as required.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the initial review of newly on-boarded loans for upcoming taxes.
  • Process requests for tax payment disbursements and record all tax payments accurately.
  • Collaborate with the Asset Manager to address any escrow shortfalls that may affect tax payments.
  • Create communications pertaining to tax disbursements.
  • Determine monthly tax obligations based on received data.
  • Perform annual escrow account analyses and ensure follow-up on tax payments for non-escrowed loans.
  • Ensure follow-up to confirm payment of taxes for loans not covered by an escrow account.
  • Regularly update comments for discussion in monthly Critical Date Meetings.
  • Participate in required training to maintain compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Update collateral information in the system of record as needed.
  • Manage, prepare, and process borrower refunds resulting from escrow surpluses or reimbursements.

Required Qualifications:
  • BA degree required
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in commercial real estate, with a clear understanding of different property types, as well as tax processing and monitoring practices
  • Demonstrated capacity to achieve results in a dynamic setting.
  • Organizational and administrative skills that reflect attention to detail and the ability to prioritize amidst competing demands.
  • Skilled in managing sensitive information while upholding privacy.
  • Handling workload and special projects efficiently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
