Job description

Mortgage Loan Processing Assistant

Liberty FCU, a full-service credit union, is currently seeking internal and external applications for a Mortgage Loan Processing Assistant for our Denver, CO region. The successful applicant must possess excellent member service and organizational skills. Candidates must be available to work Saturdays on a rotating basis.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Process mortgage loan files:
    • Contact member within 24 hours of receiving the mortgage file to make an introduction and request supporting documents needed in addition to ensuring initial disclosures have been signed.
    • Request and collect supporting documentation from member.
    • Prepare letters of explanations for members.
    • Complete income calculation worksheet.
    • Assemble loan files in e-folder in order for submission to set-up.
  • Request supporting documentation from third parties as needed including ordering tax transcripts as required for loan files and obtaining verification of deposit, mortgage, employment, rent, installment and revolving debt.
  • Communicate with member regarding the status of their loan.
  • Field and answer incoming mortgage calls.
  • Update the loan origination system as verifications are received from the member and vendors.
  • Clear member facing underwriting conditions imposed by underwriters.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all credit union mortgage products.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the credit union's data processing system, loan origination system, Word, and Excel software.
