Examples of Duties The primary duty of this position(s) is to provide clerical support for the Care Center Family Violence Program. Position(s) responsibilities include but are not limited to
  • answering a crisis line and a business line
  • entering case information into databases
  • creating case records
  • scheduling appointments for three counselors and one victim advocate
  • utilizing Microsoft Outlook email and calendar
  • customer tracking
  • scanning documents
  • maintaining workroom areas

The employee in this position must be willing to work with victims and perpetrators of domestic violence. The employee must be patient and willing to hear traumatic stories and events. The employee must be willing to work overtime if needed. The person in this position must be team-oriented and possess a high degree of flexibility. The position is required to have a general working knowledge and understanding of clerical duties and functions within the section as well as specific tasks assigned by the Care Center Supervisor. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills, and abilities gained through at least one year of office assistant/secretarial experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: The selected applicant will be subject to the following conditions prior to appointment. Failure to complete or fulfill these conditions may result in dismissal. Each applicant who is tendered an offer for employment for any position with Cumberland County shall be tested for the use of drugs specified in the County policy. Refusal to submit to testing or a confirmed positive test shall be a basis for withdrawal of the conditional employment offer. Law enforcement background check is required. Has or is able to obtain a valid North Carolina Drivers License. This position will require assisting in emergency and/or disaster situations. The Cumberland County Department of Social Services has a dress code policy that must be adhered to. This policy includes specific guidelines related to tattoos and body piercing.
