Job description

The Warehouse Supervisor position is part of the Warehouse Team and will report to the Warehouse / Materials Manager. The Supervisor oversees all aspects of the materials handling functions within the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, as well as coordinating shipments to and from the facility. The supervisor leads a team, manages daily operations, ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, and works closely with other departments to maintain optimal inventory levels and support production and customer requirements.

This position will require a broad range of responsibilities to ensure success. Some examples of these responsibilities are listed below (but are not limited to the following):

  • Supervise, train, and schedule shipping/receiving and materials handling staff to ensure timely and accurate processing of inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Coordinate all incoming and outgoing shipments, including verifying orders, preparing shipping documents, and arranging transportation with carriers.
  • Oversee inventory management, including cycle counts, stock rotation, and resolving discrepancies to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Implement and monitor safety procedures and best practices to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, production, and customer service teams to ensure materials are available and delivered as needed.
  • Maintain and update records in the inventory management system and generate reports as required.
  • Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
  • Ensure that electronic components are stored according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards, including requirements for temperature, humidity, electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection, and proper labeling. Regularly inspect electronic component storage areas to ensure optimal conditions and prevent damage or contamination.
